Dr David Adlam

Dr Dave Adlam is an academic cardiologist working in Leicester in the UK. Working with SCAD-survivors he established SCAD UK/EU with the three aims of: furthering research into SCAD; supporting survivors of SCAD and enhancing knowledge of SCAD amongst health care professionals and the public. In particular his focus is on fostering collaborative research to try to get answers for SCAD patients by working with interested researchers and doctors throughout the world. Outside medicine he tries unsuccessfully to keep up with his two daughters. He thinks he is a ‘cool Dad’ (the views of his daughters cannot be shared here).

Professor Sir Nilesh Samani

Head of Cardiovascular Sciences 

Nilesh Samani is professor of cardiology and head of cardiovascular sciences and the biomedical research unit at Leicester University and Glenfield Hospital. His research interests include the genetics of heart disease and hypertension. Additionally he is a trustee for the Leicester-based charity "Heart Search" which aims to promote awarness of heart disease.

Professor Gerry McCann

Lead for SCAD Imaging

Prof McCann is a Consultant Cardiologist at Leicester Glenfield Hospital and a specialist in cardiovascular imaging. He is nationally recognised for his expertise in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging and is particularly interested in the study of in-vivo cardiac disease using novel imaging techinques.

Dr Robert Jackson

Visiting Fellow / Academic FY1 Doctor

Dr Robert Jackson is a junior doctor with an interest in Cardiology and research. He is a self-confessed computer nerd and likes to dabble with technology. Most recently he has worked on the re-design of the SCAD website and is working with colleagues at the ACCA to produce content for the new EU SCAD study group.
