Pregnancy and SCAD

Pregnancy is known to be a risk factor for SCAD. Little is known about the risks of pregnancy in patients who have previously had SCAD, though this is a topic currently under study. If you are contemplating a pregnancy after a SCAD event you should get in touch with your own cardiologist to discuss your own specific circumstances. We would be happy to advise via the NHS clinic in Leicester should a further opinion be required.

In the meantime, see this Article Published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology on SCAD in pregnancy.
